At The Play Manual, we’re all about games and how to play them. Sometimes, we may also link to games, accessories, or products available on other websites.
Some of these links may be affiliate links. Here’s what that means and how we handle advertising.
What Are Affiliate Links?
If you click an affiliate link and make a purchase from the retailer, we may earn a small commission.
This generally won’t cost you anything extra. Whether you decide to buy something is entirely up to you.
Affiliate partnerships can help support The Play Manual and allow us to keep our game guides free for everyone.
How Do We Label Advertising?
We want you to know when a link or piece of content involves a commercial partnership.
That’s why we clearly label affiliate links, for example with an “Affiliate Link” or “Ad” notice.
Paid partnerships and sponsored content are also identified as advertising.
Of course, not every external link is an affiliate link. We often link to official rulebooks, publishers, and other useful resources simply because they provide helpful information.
Our Content Comes First
A rule doesn’t become more accurate just because there’s a shopping link next to it.
We keep our editorial content separate from commercial interests. Our guides are here to help you understand how games work, whether a page contains affiliate links or not.
You can learn more about how we research and review our guides in our Editorial Policy.
